How Much Does Trademark Registration in UAE Really Cost in 2025

Types of US Trademark Registration - IndiaFilings

I have always been asked about the trademark registration in Dubai cost, and to be honest, I did not have a proper researched answer. However, while going through multiple websites, it became quite clear that it is a fairly straightforward process. But, as I have researched further, I have identified that there are three ways for trademark registration, and the price tag varies based on the route chosen.

In this post, I will be providing detailed guidance regarding the trademark in the UAE, its cost, and a few other aspects related to it. So, let us start everything in a step-wise manner.

Understanding the Official Fees

The UAE Ministry of Economy is a competent authority that helps with national filings. On average, the official fees for the trademark, along with official fees and legal or consultancy fees, are around AED 6000 to AED 7000. This is the usual fee that is charged if you are filing directly through the official route.

However, please note that the fee is not fixed for one class of goods or materials, and it varies. I have been seeing many people online filing a separate application form for each class under which the trademark is needed. Filing through the national or official route is usually the simplest option available for most applicants.

A Breakup of the Fee

Here I will provide a breakdown of the fees for applying to trademark registration in Dubai cost, which includes:

  • Official Application Fees

As per my research, the official application fees vary between AED 1950 for one mark in only one of the classes.

  • Publication Fees

Next, when I researched the publication fees through the national route, it came out to be around AED 1000. These fees will usually cover the publication of the trademark in the official journal and two local newspapers.

  • Professional Fees

The professional fees may vary between one law firm and another, or in many cases, I have seen that it also depends on the agents that you may contact for filing.

Are There Any Additional Costs?

I have seen that there may be some additional costs involved, which are:

  • Business Licenses and Commercial Regulations, which need to be obtained from the UAE Ministry of Economy.
  • Legalised power of Attorney, which is a legal document needed if you are using a representative to enable the filing. In case you are a large business, it is helpful to take their services as they can help you seamlessly, but obviously with some extra charge.
  • Multi-class filing can also increase the cost of the application form.

However, I must inform you that cancellation of the trademark is not free. The cancellation fee is AED 750 for publication, and in case you are looking for renewal of the trademark, it is going to cost you AED 6500 or AED 7250, whichever is applicable.

For more information or help, I would like you to visit Consulting.AE, for getting help related to:

  • Trade name registration

As per my research, they are the best portal available online for providing detailed help related to starting a new business in the UAE.

Final Recommendations

Now, if I am providing a rough estimate for the entire filing process for a single class, then expect a costing of AED 7000. However, I would always advise you to keep looking through the official portal of the Dubai (MOE) for noting any changes in the price.
